Maxine Abbott, 91, Indianapolis, passed away August 7, 2014.

She was born on February 16, 1923 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Carl and Bernice (Whitaker) Dietz.

Maxine was an active member of Tri Chi Alpha Sorority, where she served in many offices, including president, secretary, and treasurer. She was also involved in the Red Hats.

Maxine was a member of Franklin Road Church of Christ. She worked for many years for Allstate Insurance Company and the Indiana State Department of Insurance. She had also been employed at the office of Dr. David Cross.

Maxine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, Delmar Abbott in 2012, her parents, her brothers, Robert Dietz and Vinton Dietz, and her sisters, Charlotte Mahan and Mary Evelyn Dietz.

Maxine is survived by her sisters, Joan Veteto and Roberta Sturgeon (Kenneth); her sister-in-law, Rosa Dietz; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Eddie and Ada Abbott; numerous nephews and nieces; and a host of friends.
