Hassell Lee Eads, age 77 of 1780 White Hill Rd., passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2000, at his home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Ephesus Baptist Church by Rev. Robert Morrison and Rev. Roger Thomas. Burial will follow in Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Eads was born in Surry County, a son of the late Dillard and Effie Atkins Eads. Hassell was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline E. Nickens and three brothers, Jay W. Eads, Wade Eads and Lloyd Eads. Mr. Eads is survived by his wife, Mary Della Vestal Eads, two daughters, Nancy E. McLendon of Sanford and Joyce E. Whisnant of Germantown, TN, one son, Dr. Bruce W. Eads of Albuquerque, NM, two sisters, Josephine E. Holland of Sanford and Fay E. Fields of Hope Mills, two brothers, James Esker Eads and Roger Eads, both of Sanford, two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home. Memorial can be made to First Health Hospice, 109-A S. Vance Street, Sanford, NC 27330.
