Albert was the second of four children born to Thomas Brown and Margaret E. (Pauley) Fuquay. He married Susan H. Westbrook in 1885 and they had eight children: Kenneth Merton, Ethely M., E. Beatrice, Kitty Emogene., Augustius Coyle, Coleman Steel, Bennie W. and Cecil A.

A. FUQUAY DIES EARLY MONDAY

A. Fuquay, 82 years old, passed away at 12:30 a. m. Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Maurice Street in East Idabel, where he and Mrs. Fuquay had resided since last September. He had been ill the past year.
He was born on February 3, 1862, at Cerrogordo, Ark., and was married to Miss Susan E. Westbrook, December 6, 1885, at Center Point, Ark. They came to McCurtain county in 1902, residing in the Forest Hill community until 23 years ago when they moved to Broken Bow.
Funeral services were held at 3 p. m. today (Wednesday) at the First Baptist church in Broken Bow, with Rev. John Smith, pastor, officiating. Music furnished by the choir of the church with Mrs. R. H. Sherrill as accompanist.
Burial was made in Denison cemetery, Idabel, under direction of the Wilson funeral home.
Pallbearers were W. T. Harrison, J. D. Butler, Ben Lambert, Pierce Woods, C. M. Pendergrass and A. W. Fallis.

Survivors are his wife; three sons, Gus, Fayetteville, Ark.; Steele, San Antonio, Texas, and Cecil Fuquay, U. S. Army, San Luis Obispo, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Street, Idabel; Mrs. Chas. Burkhead, Lockesburg, Ark.; Mrs. Eunice Faller, Oklahoma City; Mrs. Harold Kline, Placerville, Calif. Eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two half brothers, Tom and John Fuquay, both of California, also survive.
Merton Fuquay, a son, passed away January 24, 1934, at Colorado Springs, Colo.
Fuquay was a charter member of the Garvin Masonic lodge, and an active member of the First Baptist church at Broken Bow. He was a good citizen and had a host of friends, many of whom were in attendance at the funeral today.

Services Held Yesterday for Pioneer Citizen
Funeral services were held yesterday (Wednesday) at 3 p. m., in the Baptist church for Albert Fuquay, pioneer resident of this community who died Monday at his home in Idabel. Born the son of Mr. and Mrs. Brown Fuquay, Cherro Gordo (Cerrogordo), Arkansas, in 1862, Mr. Fuquay was 82 years old at the time of his passing.
He was married in 1885 to Susan Ettna Westbrook. They had eight children. One son, Merton, preceded him in death in 1934. Mr. Fuquay had been a faithful member of the Baptist church here for 30 years, having only recently moved to Idabel.
Rev. John L. Smith, Baptist pastor, officiated at the service. A choir composed of Charles Lee, Peggy McQueen, Edward Aaron, Margaret Haley, Lavon Kendrick, Kenneth Aaron, and Ruby Gray sang, "The Uncloudy Day," "No Disappointment in Heaven," and "Abide With Me," with Mrs. R. H. Sherrill accompanying them. Interment, under the direction of the Wilson funeral home, was in Denison cemetery in Idabel.
Survivors of the deceased are the widow; three sons, Gus, Fayetteville, Ark., Steel, San Antonio, Texas; and Cecil, San Luis Obispo, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Ethel Burkhead, Locksburg, Ark.; Mrs. E. S. Faller, Oklahoma City; and Mrs. Harold Kline, Placerville, Calif.; and Mrs. Morris Street, Idabel; two half brothers, Tom and John Fuquay, of California.
