Judy A. Gates 72, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 4:35 P.M. Friday August 8, 2014 at Kindred Hospital Northern Indiana, Mishawaka, Indiana, with her loving granddaughters, Tyler and Jessie, by her side.
She was born on August 19, 1941 in Hammond, Indiana the daughter of William B. and Ellen (Sanders) Wagoner. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1959. She married Raymond Skarbek in 1962. In 1972 in Wabash, Indiana, she married Thomas Gates. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1993.
Mrs. Gates retired in October 1993 from Norwest Bank, Rochester. She had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Council on Aging.
Survivors include her sons, Trevor and wife Gail Skarbek, Rochester, Indiana, Tracy and wife Nesha Skarbek, Kewanna, Indiana, step children, Vicki Bartlett, Terry Gates and Jennie Bradley, all of Rochester, Indiana, grandchildren, Tyler Skarbek, Jessie Skarbek, Bailey Skarbek and Matthew Hayes, all of Rochester, Indiana, and nephew, Chris Wagoner, Rochester, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bill Wagoner, and step-son, Ernie Gates.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Internment will take place in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana.
