Mary Ellen Ferrell, 72, died at 3:28 a.m. Thursday Jan. 1, 2004 at Saint Anthony's Health Center.
She was born June 28, 1931 in St. Louis to Patrick Michael and Ellen O'Donnell.
Her husband Harold P. Ferrell, died in 1985.
A homemaker, she attended the Catholic Church.
Surviving are three sons, John Ferrell and his wife, Lisa, of St. Charles, Mo., Jim Ferrell of Santa Monica, Calif, and Patrick Ferrell and his fiancee, Mercy Martin, of Shiloh; two granddaughters, Ellie and Jade Ferrell; a brother Charlie O'Donnell, and his wife, Beverly of St. Louis; two sisters, Jackie Janson and her husband, Bob of St. Peters and Margaret Brady of St. Louis; and her long time companion, Donald Garner.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Patrick, John, and Cornelius O'Donnell.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until a memorial service at 7 p.m. today at Elias-Smith Funeral Homes and Crematory in Godfrey, with Father Roger Schoenhofen officiating.
After the memorial service, visitation will continue until 9 p.m.
Internment will be at a later date at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
