Sarah was 15 when she married 21 year old William Martin Stone on October 31, 1846, in Gibson county. They were blessed with 7 children; 5 of which lived to adulthood.
William and Sarah farmed in Gibson County but sometime between 1865 and 1870 they joined a wagon train to Arkansas and settled in Marmaduke located in Greene County. They began farming again and lived here the remainder of their lives.
William died at the age of 56 on April 26, 1881 and Sarah died at the age of 68 on August 14, 1900. She was living with her son, William Aaron, at the time.
Both Sarah and William are buried in the Harvey's Chapel Cemetery in Marmaduke.
