Funeral services for Michael Collier Blue, 62, of Cleburne, Texas will be held today, Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Rosser Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery in Cleburne, Texas.
Michael passed away surrounded by his family on August 9, 2014 in Fort Worth, TX.
Michael was born July 15, 1952 in Fort Worth, TX. He attended Arlington Heights High School where he played football as a defensive and offensive lineman. A talented guitar player and singer, most of his life was enriched by his deep love of music that he enjoyed sharing with others. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who’s family meant everything to him.
Michael was employed by Lockheed Martin over 14 years where he was respected for his leadership as a union delegate. He then began working for Bass Enterprises at Downtown Fort Worth Sundance Square. His mechanical mind and constant desire to learn and grow led him to complete his HVAC certification at Tarrant County College. He and his wife Patricia decided to leave Fort Worth for a new adventure in Cleburne, TX where he began working for Dugger Brothers Heating and Air Conditioning. Later, he was employed by Johnson County and was proud to be a part of the restoration of the historic county courthouse.
Michael’s family roots and happy childhood memories began in Cleburne and surrounding areas of Johnson County, so moving to Cleburne was a homecoming, bringing him closer to his mother Cleo and to other family members. He loved the unity, friendliness and slower pace of life Cleburne had to offer. Michael was a lover of all things sports and was devoted to his Dallas Cowboys. His warm, robust sense of humor and quick wit will be truly missed by his friends and loved ones. Michael was a guy that knew something about anything and loved engaging in conversations and offering advice.
He was preceded in death by his father A.D. Blue.
Michael is survived by his mother Cleo Blue of Cleburne, wife of 34 years Patricia Blue, daughter Amy Blue Young and her husband Hunter Young, daughter Jessica Blue Ferguson and her husband Colin Ferguson, brother Ronald Blue and wife Claire Blue, sister Judy Blue, granddaughters Evelyn and Eleanor Young, niece Natalie Moffitt and husband Brian and children; cousins, extended family and friends.
The Blue family would like to sincerely thank the doctors and nurses at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cardiac ICU for their compassion and professionalism during Michael’s passing.
