-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Josiah Boone was born to Josiah Boone, Sr. and Hannah Henton in 1758 in Berks County, Pennsylvania. His father Josiah was on the 1759 tax list for Robeson Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. By 1764, the family was living in Chester County, Pennsylvania (reported in the Bradford Meeting Minutes of the Quaker church). By the time Josiah was ten years old, his family had moved to Augusta County, Virginia along Linville Creek. In 1777, Josiah Sr. sold his land on Linville Creek and took his family to Culpeper County.

In 1782 Josiah was living in Lincoln County, Kentucky District, Virginia. He served in the Revolutionary War, as a private in Lincoln County Militia under Captain Samuel Kirkham, Oct 22 1782-Nov 23 1782. Josiah paid a tax on 1 tithable and 2 horses in 1789 Madison County, Kentucky. On 11 January 1802 Josiah and his wife Percis sold land in Shelby County, Kentucky. This deed is the last time that Percis has been placed alive. The will of Thomas Henton dated 27 December 1796 names as his daughter Percis Boone of Kentucky.

Josiah's wife Percis died after 11 January 1802 and before 15 December 1810 because on this day Josiah married Elenor Bryan Adams. They were to have two daughters: Charity and Telithe. Josiah's estate was brought to probate at the April Court 1823 of Shelby County, Kentucky. Elenor was still living at the time the probate was started. However, by the March 26 Court, 1826 Elenor had died. No date was given for Elenor's death. At the August 1826 court for Shelby County, Kentucky, Isaac Canine reported as guardian for both Charity and Telithe Boone. At the March Court 1829 Robert Doak reported as guardian for both Charity and Telithe. The guardianship of Charity and Telithe continued until 1830.

Children named in the probate were Leah, Hannah, George, Ruth, Percis, Josiah, Deborah, Anne, Charity, and Telithe.
