He proudly served this country as an Aircraft Engine Mechanic in the United States Navy and was stationed at the U.S. Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida. He was an out-of-doors person who loved camping, hunting and fishing.
Charles is survived by his only son, Charles Allen and Andrea Swicegood; grandson, Hyder Charles Swicegood; companion, Susan Taylor; former wife, Shirley Y. Gibson; and many other loved ones, friends and acquaintances.
A celebration of his life was on Saturday, July 16, 2014 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. A veteran’s burial took place.
