JOHN COYNE, 67, PIONEER
MINE OPERATOR, SUCCUMBS
John Coyne, 67 years old, a pioneer mining man of the district for twenty-five years, and a brother of Tom Coyne, prominent Webb City mine operator, died at St. John's hospital at 3:15 o'clock Sunday afternoon. He had been a patient at the hospital since February, suffering with heart disease, which caused his death.
Coyne was born in Boston, Mass., and came to Jasper county settling in Joplin when a young man. He spent most of his time while in the district in Webb City but for a number of years he was employed by the Missouri Pacific railroad out of Joplin and the Aetna Powder Company.
Funeral services will be held from the Sacred Heart church at Webb City at 9:30 o'clock tomorrow morning.
Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery. His body is now at the home of his sister, Mrs. A. D. Hatten, No. 900 South Ball street, in Webb City.
Surviving relatives are a son, John Coyne, jr., of St. Louis; a daughter, Mrs. Fred Renwick of Nevada; three sisters, Mrs. T. H. Riffee of Kansas City, Mrs. Mary McMenomy and Mrs. Hatten of this city and two brothers, Harry Coyne of Kansas City and Tom F. Coyne of Webb City.
