It is believed that Abraham Lincoln Deckard, 1851-1940, was buried in the Knightridge Cemetery although he and his wife also have a double tombstone in the Deckard Cemetery. See Find A Grave memorials # 10505449 and # 10505450 in the Deckard Cemetery for Abraham Deckard, 1851-1940, and Mary Deckard, 1855-1922. There is conflicting information regarding Abraham Deckard’s burial location. Abraham Deckard’s obituaries in The Daily Telephone newspaper state that burial would be in the Deckard Cemetery. The Monroe County, Indiana Death Records Index and the Knightridge Cemetery records state that burial was in the Knightridge Cemetery.

Abraham Deckard, Age 88, Dies at Home of Daughter
Abraham Deckard, 88-year-old native of Lawrence county and retired Brown county farmer, died this morning at 9 o’clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Serepha Chambers, with whom he had been living for nearly two years at 1105 North Faculty Avenue. He had been ill for a year and a half and had been weakening gradually. Death was attributed to paralysis.
Mrs. Deckard died approximately 16 years ago and survivors include five children; Mrs. Chambers, with whom he had lived in Bloomington, Mrs. Martin Steinhagen of Oolitic, C. W. Deckard of Mitchell, Ella Deckard of Bloomington and Mrs. Lish Elkins of Nashville.
Funeral services are to be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Knight Ridge church with the Rev. George Deckard officiating. Burial will be in the Deckard cemetery 14 miles from Bloomington. Until the funeral hour, the body will remain at the Day funeral home.

Abraham Deckard, age 88, a retired Brown county farmer, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Srepha Chambers last Friday, in Bloomintgon (sic). Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Knight Ridge church in Monroe county.
