Virginia 'Ginger' Ortseifer Abate, 64, of 67 Central Ave. died Feb. 11. She was the wife of Louis M. Abate Jr. She was the daughter of Graton and Harriet Clark Ortseifer of Westbrook. She retired in 1995 as a senior teller for New Haven Savings Bank. In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by daughters, Rosella Crowley, Kathleen and Louise Abate and Virginia 'Ginny' Lynch of West Haven and Debra Macolino of North Haven; a sister, Joan Altvater of West Haven; a brother, Michael Ortseifer of West Haven; and 12 grandchildren.
