Springfield – Pauline V. Drake, 93, wife of the late Charles Emery Drake, passed away Aug 12, 2014 at a Lincoln healthcare facility with her family at her side. She was born May 27, 1921 in Prentiss, the daughter of Nat and Madge (Smith) Thompson. Pauline was a good homemaker and cook who always enjoyed having her family around. She is survived by three children, Paul Drake and his wife Diane, Janet and her husband, Bernard Austin and Darrell Drake and his wife Debbie; a sister Gloria Becklund; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Cole Cemetery, with the Rev. Alice Lester officiating. Those who wish may donate in her memory to Springfield Congregational Church.
