Albert Aloysius "Alois" Ertle was an artist. He was known for his frescoes he painted in several Catholic churches in several states. As well as his own paintings. He was my 3rd great-grandfather and I have some of his small paintings mostly on postcards.
He married to a girl from Switzerland named Babette. They had 13 children, 7 daughters who lived to be adults and 7 grandchildren.
He came to the United States from Germany in 1853. As an artist he was sometimes called A. A. Ertle.
