Frank was the loving husband of Naomi Rufe. The couple had enjoyed 61 years of marriage. Born in Doylestown on July 5, 1931, he was a son of the late Frank and Mabel Rufe. Frank was a graduate of Doylestown High School, class of 1949.
He was proud to have served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War, stationed in Adak, Alaska. Frank was employed at the Doylestown A&P until its closing and then worked at Penn Engineering and Manufacturing until his retirement.
Frank loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed spending many weeks over the years in Canada.
In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by three sons, Frank L. Jr. "Skip", Kenneth Lee (Karen), and Robert L. (Deborah); a daughter, Janette Dallas; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Cheryl K. Ruehl. He was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth and Richard.
Relatives and friends are invited to Frank's funeral service at 4 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Shelly Funeral Home, Easton and Keller's Church Roads, Plumsteadville, where the family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
