Robert "Daddy Bob" Grady Baum
June 8, 1922 - August 13, 2014

Funeral Services for Robert G. "Daddy Bob" Baum, 92, a long-time Hereford resident, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Avenue Baptist Church with Reverend Billy Joe Wall, pastor and the Reverend Ellis Parson, pastor of Summerfield Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in West Park Cemetery. Services are under the supervision of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mr. Baum passed away in Amarillo on Wednesday, August 13, 2014.

Robert Grady Baum was born June 8, 1922 in Fannin County, Texas to Hugh Frank and Jeanette Duffie Baum. He attended schools in Savannah, and Lexington Oklahoma. He graduated from Lexington High School. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps.

He met and married Mary Louise Flanagan on June 20, 1945 in Soldiers Town, Northern Ireland.

He moved to Hereford in 1962 from Norman, Ok. He had been a farmer in Oklahoma, he owned and operated Bob's Truck Repair Service for two years in Hereford. He worked as a mechanic for the Ford and Chevrolet Dealers, retired from Holly Sugar Company as a Boiler Room Operator. He coached Girls Softball, was active in Camp Fire Girls. He was a Boy Scout having earned the Order of the Arrow. Robert was a member of Summerfield Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for many years. He was also a member of the Woodcarvers of America.

After the death of Mary Louise he married Leone Buckley on November 2, 1990, in Hereford.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Glenda Jesko and husband David of Hereford, and Rosemary Morgan and husband Hoy of Hereford, 1 son Brian Baum and wife Debra of French Settlement, La., 2 sisters Margaret Patterson of Canyon, and Vernell Henry of Grapevine, Tx. 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Daddy Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Mary Louise and his second wife Leone, and a son Robert Leland Baum.The family suggests memorials in Mr. Baum's name be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 5429 LBJ Fwy, Ste 250, Dallas, Tx 75240-2617, The American Cancer Society, 3915 Bell Ave, Amarillo, Tx 79109 or King's Manor Methodist Retirement System, 400 Ranger, Hereford, Tx 79045.
