Geneva F. Young, 83, Hillsdale, Wis., died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006, at Pioneer Nursing Home, Prairie Farm.

She was born Sept. 3, 1922, to Sam and Harmka (Koop) Huisman at Kamrar, Iowa. The family moved to the Hillsdale area in 1926.

On June 30, 1941, she married Foster Young at Barron. They spent their life farming in the Hillsdale area.

Geneva will be remembered for her faith in God and caring for family and friends.

She enjoyed gardening and sewing crafts.

Surviving are a son, Darryl (Barb) of Hillsdale; a daughter, Linda (Ron) Peters of Hillsdale; grandchildren, Rodney Peters of Emerald, Robert (Terri) Peters of Turtle Lake, Ryan (Sheila) Peters of Hillsdale, Darla (Greg) Crites of Barron, Deanne (Darin) Moravitz of Comstock, Natasha (Scott) Singerhouse of Prairie Farm and Brent (Tara) Young of Hillsdale; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Freeman (Rosie) Huisman of Herald, Calif., Edmond Huisman of Galt, Calif., and Leon (Joyce) Huisman of Herald, Calif.; a sister, Ellyn (Leon) Naef of Lincoln, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Norma Hunt of Charlotte Harbor, Fla.; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on March 5, 1999; a brother, Wendell Huisman; and an infant daughter and sister.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, from the Ridgeland Community Center, with Terry Ault and Perry Pearson officiating. Interment will be held at Glenwood Cemetery, Town of Dallas, Barron County.

Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Thursday from the Mark Rausch Funeral Home, Dallas, and an hour prior to services at the community center Friday.
