Miss Phillips was a native of Madison County and taught in Madison for several years. For many years she engaged in teaching and secretarial work in Florida and other states.
She was a graduate of Scarritt Bible and Training School, Nashville, TN. Survivors are one brother George Phillips, of Live Oak; one sister, Mrs. Alice Bond, of Washington DC; three nephews, Carl Phillips, of Bradenton, Emory Gibson, of Madison, and Harvey Gibson, of San Diego, CA and two nieces, Mrs. Katie Owens, of Jacksonville and Mrs. Lydia Phillips Howes, of Pahokee. Funeral services were held Monday with interment in Riverside Memorial Park, Jacksonville. Madison (FL) Enterprise
