Electra, Texas (Special) - S. Y. McAllister, 59, Electra taxi operator, died from a heart attack at the wheel of his cab following a minor traffic accident at 1:39 p.m. Tuesday. McAllister was delivering a passenger, Mrs. Z. P. Mask of Electra, to work when his taxi was in collision with a car driven by Harrold Drew, 25, of Electra, at the intersection of North Kendall and West Michigan. Both McAllister and Drew got out of their cars to investigate damage to the vehicles. McAllister returned to his car, slid under the wheel and then slumped forward. His passenger, Mrs. Mask, asked if he was injured from the wreck and McAllister lifted as if to speak, then fell forward again. A Totten funeral Home ambulance rushed McAllister to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Dr. John E. Thompson and Dr. W. H. Ogden examined McAllister and attributed death to a heart attack and not the minor automobile accident. Neither Drew or Mrs. Mask were injured in the accident. Funeral services will be held al 3 p.m. Thursday in the Electra Church of Christ with A. F. Thurman, minister from Frederick, Okla., officiating. Burial will be in Electra Cemetery under direction of Totten Funeral Home. McAllister came to Electra two years ago after operating a grocery-service station near Rocky Point, northeast of Electra. He came to Wichita County in 1926 from Red Oak, Texas. Survivors include his wife, one daughter, Miss Reba McAllister of Electra; one son, Roy, of Abilene, and a sister, Mrs. L. C Gilmore of Dallas. WICHITA FALLS (Texas) TIMES, 14 Jan. 1959, p. 3A.
