NATHAN R. LOOCKERMAN
Nathan R. Loockerman, a former
resident of Crisfield but who had been
living in Hampton, Va., for a number
of years, died at a hospital in that
city on Tuesday night. He was 75
years of age.
Mr. Loockerman had been in ill
health for some time and had entered
the hospital for treatment where it
was found that an operation was
necessary. He died, however, before
the operation could be performed.
The deceased was born in Caroline
County, Md., but came to Crisfield
when quite a young man and engaged
in the seafood business. The greater
part of his life was spent in this city
and he has a host of friends here who
were deeply grieved to learn of his
passing.
He is survived by three daughters,
Mrs. Mary Nelson, of Hampton, Va.,
Miss Erma Loockerman, of Hampton,
and Miss Margaret Loockerman, of
New York, N. Y. One brother, Mr. C.
A. Loockerman, and one sister, Mrs.
B. F. Somers, both of this city, also
survive.
The remains were brought to
Crisfield yesterday, Thursday, on the
afternoon train, and funeral services
held at 4:30 o'clock, at Mount Pleasant
M. E. Church, conducted by the
Rev. C. M. Elderdice, pastor.
Interment was in Crisfield cemetery.
