"MRS. CLARENCE HAYES OF LENA SUCCUMBS
Ida Hayes, wife of Clarence Hayes, residing at Lena, died at an early hour Sunday morning at local hospital, where she was being treated for tumor. The deceased woman was past forty years of age and is survived by the husband, two daughters and two sons as follows: Mrs. Zella Walton of Diamond and Mildred Hayes, age four years. The sons are Clyde Moses of Carlonville, Ill., and Toney Moses, who is in the U.S. navy. The body was prepared by R.A. Lawson Co., and later removed to the home in Lena, where services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, after which the burial will be at the Calcutta cemetery."
