Jack was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and previously worked on the railroad. He worked as a truck driver for 22 years and had signed up with Haliburton's KBR subsidiary to drive fuel trucks in Iraq for a year. The attack that took Jack's life also claimed the lives of five fellow truckers and two U.S. Army Reserve soldiers; another driver and a U.S. soldier remain missing.
