“IN MEMORIAM
Arthur Blaine McGuffey, was born March 11th 1885, and departed this life October 28th 1915. He was married March 11th 1910 to Miss Lena Melhorn and to this union were born four children Arthur B. Jr., Henry Andrew, Georgia May, and James Rudolph, all living. Also by his mother, Mrs. James McGuffey, and five sisters, Mrs. Sam and Will Blake of Rockwood, Mrs. James Collett, Mrs. L. S. Powell, and Mrs. Fred Zumstein of Pine Orchard, Mr. A. J. McGuffey of Los Angeles California.

He professed faith in Christ and attached himself to the Pine Orchard Baptist Church in 1906, where he remained a consistent member until death called him hence.
The early years of were spent on the farm, where he remained until 25 years of age; since that time he has been in the employ of Queen and Crescent Railroad, where he held the responsible position of Assistant Yard Master, having been promoted to this position from Brakeman’s place. He enjoyed the merited confidence of the railroad in a very peculiar ways.

Bro. McGuffey was thrown from a freight car, from which he sustained injuries that caused his death.

His funeral was conducted from his residence in Oakdale, in the presence of a large concourse of friends, by Rev. M. C. Atchley of Harriman, assisted by Rev. W. M. Griffitt of Rockwood, and Rev. Mr. Taylor, pastor of the M. E. Church of Pine Orchard. His remains were carried by a special train to Deermont where he was consigned to his final resting place to await the resurrection of the dead."
