Sarah Faubion and Mack Thomas were married on December 9, 1866, in Barton County, Missouri. Her parents were Jacob Cummings (or Cummins) Faubion and Harriet Broadhurst.

"The Lamar Democrat," Lamar, Missouri, March 25, 1920
(Pg 2, Column 6)
"Aged Lady Stricken
"Mrs. Sarah Thomas, mother of the well known citizen, J. W. Thomas, of near Milford, suffered a heavy stroke, last Sunday evening, at her home, a short distance from that of her son. Mrs. Thomas was at the table finishing her supper. Her grandson, who lives with her, had gone out to start to church. He came back into the house, after his flash light and found his grandmother lying on the floor unconscious. She has not yet regained consciousness. Mrs. Thomas is in the neighborhood of seventy five years old. It is not believed she will recover."

Death certificate shows her name as Sarah Diahana Thomas and her date of birth is shown as December 30, 1845. The 1900 U.S. Federal Census shows her birth as Feb. 1846. Also, her place of birth is shown as Barton County on her death certificate, but it may more likely have been in Clay or Platte County, Missouri, as her family did not move to Barton County until 1858 or 1859.
