Leo F. Amen, 92, of Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 2021 Madison, died at 4:55 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 23, 1989) in St. Mary Hospital.

Mr. Amen was born Dec. 23, 1897, in Columbus Township, a son of Francis and Mary Amen. He married Elsie Koch in 1921. She died in 1967. He later married Magdalene Busse in 1969. She died in 1983.

Mr. Amen was city comptroller for eight years in the 1930s. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, its Holy Name Society, St. Vincent DePaul Society and 60 and over Club. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, White House Retreat League of St. Louis, and was office and credit manager for Lagomarcino-Grupe Co. for 20 years.

He is survived by nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by four sisters and six brothers.

Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the wake service at 6:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Quincy Notre Dame High School.
