Al, age 88, was born on January 10, 1915, in Los Angeles to Grover Eugene and Marguerite Harrison.
He passed away on August 8, 2003 in Stockton.
Al's formative years were spent in San Bernardino where he graduated from high school. In 1940, he moved to Fresno to attend Fresno State College as
a music major. There he met Betty Harlan of Riverdale and they were married on April 18, 1942. They resided in Fresno until 1999 when they moved to Stockton.
Al was involved in many activities centering around his wife and family. He worked for Cal-Farm Insurance Company for many years as an insurance adjuster and claims manager before his retirement in 1976.
Al is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty; son, Gene Harrison of Fresno; daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Mike Fluetsch of Stockton; sons and daughters-in-law Russ Harrison and Sandy Martin of Modesto, and Steve and Donna Harrison of Manteo, NC; grandson and granddaughter-in-law Chris Fluetsch and Erika Kegel, granddaughter Sarah Fluetsch, grandsons Nick, Chris, Jesse, and Evan Harrison, one great-grandchild and his sister Peggy Posson of Merced.
The family requests any memorial donations be made in Al's name to the Alzheimer's Aid Society, 105 S. Washington, Lodi, CA 95240.
Following cremation, a private ceremony was held by the family. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Al's life at the Piccadilly Inn Airport, 5115 E. McKinley Avenue in Fresno on Saturday September 6, 2003, at 1:00p.m.
