Albert (Al) Lugean Bell, 91, a resident of Nice, CA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 10, 2014, at home with family by his side.
Al was born in Huron, South Dakota in 1923. After leaving home he traveled the United States working many jobs. In 1940 he joined the Navy and served his duty until being honorably discharged in 1945.
He met and married Lila Bell (Deceased in 2012) and they settled in Pacifica, California where they raised their 3 boys. Al and Lila moved to Nice, Ca in the early eighties where they retired.
Al was a hard working Ironworker and had worked on many of the high rises and towers in San Francisco and beyond. Al was also a member of the Coastside Masonic Lodge in Pacifica, as well as the Hartley Lodge in Lakeport, CA. He was a 32nd degree Shriner, and also participated in the Eastern Star.
Al is survived by his sons; Allen J. Bell (Karen) of Modesto, Michael L. Bell Sr. (Danna) of Nice, and Dale R. Bell, Modesto, as well as 4 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Lila Bell and grandson Jeremy Bell. Al was a dedicated husband and father and a good friend to many in the community. He will be greatly missed.
No immediate service is planned. Cremation arrangements by Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, Lakeport.
