Roland N. Breit, age 67, W4453 Highway 114, Hilbert, died unexpectedly Thursday Nov. 28, 1991, at Community Memorial Hospital in Menominee Falls.
He was born March 7, 1924 in the town of Woodville, the son of the late Peter and Pauline (Gruber) Breit. He had attended St. John Catholic School in St. John and schools in New Holstein.
On Aug. 12, 1947 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. John, He married Laurina Theil. After marriage, the couple lived in Hilbert for 10 years, moving to the town of Harrison in 1957 where they had farmed for a total of 34 years.
Prior to farming he had worked as a mechanic for Gustman Auto in Kaukauna, Pethan Auto in Hilbert and Mueller Implement in Sherwood. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood, the Sherwood Lions Club which he was currently serving as secretary; the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Chilton; and was a lifelong member of the NFO. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Marine Corps.
Survivors include is wife, Laurina; his stepmother, Sally Breit, Chilton; six daughter and five sons-in-law; Mrs. Dick (Beatice) Baird, Mrs. Mike (Beverly) Grenzer, all of Chilton, and Bernice Breit, Appleton; Mrs. Ken (Bernadine) Reider, Malone; Mrs. Bob (Brenda) Sheahan, Mrs. Dave (Bernetta) Kersten, all of Hilbert; six sons and five daughters-in-law; Harold and Lori Breit, Elkhart Lake; Allan and Laurel Breit, Germantown; Jim and Renee Breit, Brillion; Tony and Judy Breit, Alphons and Lisa Breit, all of Hilbert; Gerry Breit, at home; 20 grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Mrs. Darrell (Virginia) Gasch, New Holstein; a brother and sister-in-law, LeRoy and Georgiana Breit, Kiel He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Pauline Breit, and a brother, Harold.
Services were at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood, with the Rev. Kenneth Frozena officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
