Enoch married Mahala Ann Kays on December 11, 1847, in Garrard Co, Kentucky.
They had ten children: Mary, James J., Sarah, Elizabeth, Thomas, Benjamin, Martha (known as Mattie), Nancy Dee (known as Nannie), Alvin, and Margarette.
Enoch and his wife were first seen in the 1850 Census Report, living in Jessamine County, Ky. Their first two children had been born and Enoch worked as a miller. By the 1860 Census Report, they were living near Nicholasville, and they had seven children.
After Enoch died, Mahala continued to live with her children.
