Johnny G. Baines, 69, passed away, Saturday, December 19, 2009. He was born June 22, 1940 in Nash County. He was the son of the late, Walter and Annie Newsome Baines. Johnny was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. His son will proudly remember being his #1 son. He was preceded in death by one brother, James Baines, four sisters, Janie Sills, Nellie Valentine, Mary Hale and Helen Walton. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 46 years, Judith "Ann" Dawes Baines, one son, Johnny Ray Baines and wife Cathy, five grandchildren, Chelsea, Kimi, Lindsey, Kali and Christa, twenty wonderful nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 7:00PM in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with Pastor, Jessie Blalock and Pastor David Butts officiating. Visitation will follow after service. Graveside service will be Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 11:00AM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to "Word of Life International Building Fund" where he was an active member.
