JENNIE SMALLEY FUNERAL FRIDAY
Services fro Mrs. Jennie Smalley, 87, 3016 Cornell Street, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Highland Park Funeral Home, with burial in Glendale Cemetery, Mrs. Smalley died of arterioclerosis Wednesday at the rest View Nursing Home, 1211 Pleasant Street.
Mrs. Smalley was born in Adair County and lived in Des Moines 47 years, previously residing at Shenandoah. she was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Clara Walker of Des Moines, Mrs. Iva Caswell of Oskaloosa, and Mrs. Donna Davenport, of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Jane Jennie Alice Abbott, daughter of Sewell Augustus Abbott and Mary B. McKinney was born March 1864 in Adair, Adair, Iowa and died in April 1, 1953 in Des Moines, Polk, Iowa. She married John Alexander Smalley on June 29, 1885 in Fremont County, Iowa. Children:
Jennie Smalley had three surviving daughters, Donna Marie, Iva Alice, and Donna Marie. She also had seven sons, most of whom died when babies; however, she did have one that lived to be twelve years old, Tilford Bernard Smalley.
