Wayne Sanders,the son of Alfred Macajah "Cage" and Clara Mabel Surber-Sanders, was born on Sunday, April 10,1921 in Poweshiek Co, Iowa on February 4,1943, he was married to Betty Carol Forney at Lancaster, Missouri. Betty died July 14,1996. They lived in rural Oskaloosa since 1960. Wayne farmed throughout most of his adult life and also worked at Oskaloosa Concrete Products in Oskaloosa for 23 years before retireing in 1983. He and his wife Betty also owned and operated the old South End Cafe in Oskaloosa for several years. On January 18,1997, Wayne was united in marriage to Grace Catherine Harrison-Harper at Oskaloosa. On Tuesday night December 5, 2000 Wayne died at the Mahaska County Hospital in Oskaloosa, at the age of 79 years, 7 months, and 25 days. He was preceeded in death by his first wife Betty, his parents, his step mother; Mary Elizabeth Scott-Lowry-Sanders; 2 brothers Millard Buell Sanders and Marvin Keith Sanders; and a sister: Aletha Corrall Sanders-Carnahan. Interment: Forest Cemetary Garden of Benediction, Oskaloosa, Iowa. Wayne was laid to rest on Friday, December 8, 2000 at 1:00p.m.
