Funeral services for Lester Alley, 80, route 4, Louisa, were conducted Sunday, March 4, at 2 p.m. at Myrtle Chapel Church by the Rev. Charles Bertrand and Rev. Paul Diamond. Burial was in Alley Cemetery, route 4, Louisa.
Mr. Alley passed away Friday, March 2, at Humana Hospital-Louisa of an extended illness. He was born May 16, 1909, at Louisa, son of the late Luke S. and Angeline Smith Alley.
He was a farmer, a member of the Apperson Masonic Ldoge 195, and a member of Myrtle Chapel Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Moore Alley, who died January 18, 1990. Survivors include two sons, Mark Alley, Blacksburg, VA and Larry Alley, Grayson, KY; two sisters, Mrs. Cosby Pfost, Shelbyville, KY and Mrs. Wilma Thompson, State Road, NC and six grandchildren.
