Wife of Henry P. Clarke

New York, New York, Marriage Index, 1866-1937, a collection found on Ancestry.com: Henry P. Clarke and Julia C. Hurd were married 09 June 1886 in Manhattan.

Note: per her husband's obituary, found in The State, she was a granddaughter of P. T. Barnum of Barnum and Bailey Circus fame. His obituary is too faded to post to his memorial, therefore, I will type it here:
Henry Peck Clarke died at his mountain home, about four miles from Brevard, N. C., suddenly at 3:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Mr. Clarke was a former resident of Columbia. Mr. Clarke, a native of Connecticut, came to Columbia about 30 years ago. He was a lawyer by profession, but bought large farming and timber lands in Richland and Sumter counties, owning among other property the "Good Will" place near Easter. Mr. Clarke's first wife was a granddaughter of the late P. T. Barnum, of Barnum and Bailey, and their daughter, Mrs. Nancy Clarke Carrier, survives. His second wife was Miss Mary Macfie, a daughter of the late Capt. James Macfie, of Columbia and Fairfield county. Mrs. Clarke and one son, 14 year of age, survive. Mrs. Agnes Anderson, a sister of Mrs. Clarke, and Mrs. Kate McMaster Woodrow, a first cousin of Mrs. Clarke, were at the Clarke mountain home when Mr. Clarke passed away.
