He was preceded in death by his father Leonard Hatch and one brother Ralph Hatch.
He is survived by his mother; daughter; three grandsons; six siblings and many nieces and nephews.
Dewitt served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1966. He worked as a Truck Driver with Thunder & Lace Trucking and as a Police officer with the Westlake Police Dept. for many years.
His service will be 3:00pm, Friday, August 22, 2014 at Occupy #1 Baptist Church in Pitkin, LA. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm and resume Friday from 12:00 pm at the church until time of service. Burial will be at Occupy #1 Cemetery.
