Elen Almira Munro was born October 18, 1844 in the Bear Creek Settlement, Hancock, Illinois to Henry Munro and Lovina Palmer. Her parents were Mormon Pioneers (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints -LDS) who were living near Carthage and Nauvoo, Illinois at the time of her birth. She was born during a period of strong persecution directed at the Mormons, especially after the martyrdom of their prophet, Joseph Smith, less than 10 miles from their home just a few months before her birth. Her death date and location are not known and no record has been found to date with her name except the family record with the names, birth dates and places of the children of Lovina Palmer Munro Brandon. Her name is not listed with her family members when they left for the Salt Lake Valley and she does not show up anytime after, so she had most likely died at least before the summer of 1850 and possibly much earlier.
