Ernest G. Ellery, 76, of Ridgway, Pa., died August 18, 2014, at U.P.M.C. Shady Side Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born in Brockton, Mass., son of the late Ralph and Mildred (Ames) Ellery. He was raised and educated in Rockland, Mass., graduating from Rockland High School. Mr. Ellery was a proud veteran of the armed services, serving in both the U.S. Navy, and the U.S. Air Force. He later went to work for many years as a manager for Verizon. Ernest was a member of the National Rifle Association, the Pennsylvania Rifle and Pistol Association, and the Ridgway Rifle Club. Mr. Ellery was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Ellery is survived by his brother, Raymond Ellery of Maine; uncle of Deborah Moore and her husband Brian of Abington, Mass., Carole Curry and her husband Gary of Texas, Raymond Ellery and his wife Maureen of Maine, Cheryl Curlew and her husband Tim of Maine, Chris Ellery of Maine, and Joseph Ellery of Maine. Also survived by many great-nieces and nephews; and many great great-nieces and nephews; good friend of Harry Richards and his wife Jenny of Pa.; and many other special friends. Mr. Ellerys family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate his life at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street, Rockland, Friday, August 22, 2014, from 6-9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held in the Holy Family Church in Rockland, at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
