"WOMAN PREACHER DIED AFTER LONG ILLNESS AT CARBON
Mrs. Nancy McHargue, wife of Rev, Abner McHargue, died at the home south of Carbon Saturday afternoon after a protracted illness of paralysis at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 25 days. The funeral was held Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the Ebenezer church at Benwood, officiating by Rev. Eckerley. Interment at Calcutta cemetery.

The deceased as well as her husband, was an ordained minister of the Gospel of the U.B. church. She was ordained in 1900 and had often filled her husband's pulpit when he was confined to his home by illness. Mrs. McHargue had also conducted services in many churches.

The deceased was born in Ohio county, Indiana. In later life she lived in Illinois, finally coming to Clay county where they had resided for many years. She is survived by a brother, Rev. James Barricklaw of Topeka, Kansas, and two sisters, also living in the West."
