Waterloo Courier - February 21, 1977
Services for Mrs. Emma Mary Althof, 74, of 1254 Northey St., will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic church with burial in Mount Olivet.

There will be two rosaries Tuesday at Oppold Funeral Home. One at 7 p.m. by the VFW Auxiliary and VFW Post 1623, and the other at 7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Althof died Sunday afternoon at the Area Community Hospital in Marshalltown of heart failure.

She was born July 27, 1902, in Alta Vista, daughter of John and Emma Mishak Weber. She married Ludwig Althof Nov. 21, 1922, in New Hampton.

She was past president of the Disable American Veterans, God Star Mothers and the VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include three sons, Francis of Cedar Rapids, Wendell of Dysart and Ronald of Waterloo; and two sisters, Mrs. Mayme Dockendorf of Milwaukee, Wis., and Mrs. Robert O'Connell of Chicago, Ill.

Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Tuesday.

Memorials in her name may be given to the Iowa Soldiers Home in Marshalltown.

Friends may call at the funeral home until time of service.
