Arthur Gordon Wynn drowned at Redondo Beach, CA, five days after graduating from Los Angeles High School. He'd been captain of the football team from September of 1899, to February of 1900, president of the Star and Crescent Society, and appeared in the senior play, The Best Laid Plans, by Paul Leicester Ford, as Lord Ferrol. The Los Angeles Herald of February 9, 1900 stated that his performance "was admirably presented."
