Marjorie F. Kelly, 89, formerly of Impala Dr., and a current resident of Primrose Retirement Center, died Sunday, January 25, 2009 at MedCentral Shelby Hospital. Born January 20, 1920 in Upper Sandusky, she was the daughter of Arthur and Hazel Poole Beidelschies. She moved to Mansfield in 1923 and graduated from Mansfield Senior High in 1938, recently celebrating her 70th class reunion. Marjorie was employed at Westinghouse during WWII, Robert Hall Clothing, Ritter's Office Supply, and Lazarus. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Marjorie was a Cub Scout Den Mother and a member of the Prospect PTA. She enjoyed reading, writing letters, and visiting her friends, who kindly referred to her as "Red". A doting mother and grandmother, she also enjoyed working in her yard and gardening.
She is survived by one son, James D. Kelly of Loveland, Colorado; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia "Kelly" and David F. Schmitz of Mansfield; two grandchildren, Scott J. Schmitz of Dublin, and Stephanie A. Schmitz of Findlay; sisters-in-law, Viola Beidelschies Keating of Mansfield, and Marge V. Kelly of Groveport; nephew, Edward Beidelschies of Mansfield; three nieces, Janie Marion Forrest of Pickerington, Joanne Dale Forrest of Alliance, and Peggy Gordon of Groveport; and numerous great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phillip J. Kelly; brother, Curtis Beidelschies; brother-in-law, Carole Kelly; and mother and father-in-law, Joseph D. Kelly and Mildred Kelly McClellan. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield conducted by Rev. Steven Brown. Friends may call from 12 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church or Primrose Activity Fund.
