Louise Shimek, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Shimek of Kellnersville, died early Saturday morning as a result of an automobile accident north of Maribel. Funeral services will be 10:15 a.m. Wednesday in Saur Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Alfred A. Schneider will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Louise was born Dec. 9, 1961 in Kellnersville, daughter of Rodney and Mary Ellen Watzka Shimek. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School, Kellnersville and was a junior in Reedsvile High School. Louise was a member of Future Homemakers Association, Student Athletic Association, American Field Service, a representative of her class on the Student Council, a cheerleader for three years, member of the chorus for two years and the school band for three years. She participated in track and volley ball events of the school and was a member of the Catholic Youth Organization and church choir of St. Joseph Parish.
Survivors include her parents, three brothers, Jerry, Danny and Tim at home; four sisters, Mrs. Mark (Terry) Zeman of route 2, Cato, and Wendy, Jody and Mary Jo at home; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Alvina Shimek of Kellnersville, maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lydia Watzka of Denmark; two nephews, a niece and special friend, Rick Hansen.
Friends may call in Saur Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be conducted at 8:15 p.m. by Father Schneider.
