Cleo Reeves, 71, World War 1 Vet, Dies In Omaha

Cleo F. Reeves, 71, retired farmer residing at 505 West Sixth Street, died Tuesday evening at 8:30 at the veterans hospital in Omaha. He had been in failing health for some time.
Mr. Reeves was born in Sidney Aug. 31, 1891, the son of John C. and Martha Matheny Reeves and grew to manhood in that vicinity. He was married No. 30, 1921, to Eva B. Morrison and they farmed in the Anita and Atlantic vicinities until moving to Atlantic in 1959. He was a Word War I veteran and a member of the Anita Masonic lodge.
Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Mary Jean Denison of Atlantic, Mrs. Shirley M. Parmley of Brayton and Mrs. Ruth E. Hoyt of Artesia, Calif.: a son, Gail Morrison Reeves of Atlantic; a brother, Ivan Reeves of Sidney and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dwight Reeves and a grandson, Donald Denison.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at the Roland funeral home, the Rev. Donald C. Bissinger officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic cemetery and the Masonic service will be in charge of the Anita lodge. The family will meet relatives and friends at the Roland funeral home Friday evening from 7:30 to 8:30.
