Records from the St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Phillipsburg New Jersey list Lillie's birth as 2.14.1904 and her baptism as 4.16.1904. Records for her brother, James Edgar Hartley also known as Edgar E. Hartley indicate his birth as 4.29.1904. Both his obituary and his gravestone list this date but his Social Security Records lists 4.29.1905 as his date of birth. Obviously both children could not have been born the same year two months apart so without a birth certificate for either child at this point, I cannot determine which year either child was actually born. There is no record in St. Luke's Church records for a birth or baptism of Edgar E. or James Edgar Hartley. His obituary listed in the Easton Express dated 3.6.1984 under James Edgar Hartley list him as the son of Edward & Mary McCann Hartley. Lillie's church records list her as the daughter of Edward W. & Gertrude Hartley(whose middle name was May).

Phillipsburg Cemetery Records list her death as 7.31.1904 with interment as 8.3.1904. The interment date matches the church records for burial.She is buried in an unmarked grave with her father.
