He was born Nov. 4, 1939, in Wood Co., W.Va., a son of the late Bert and Virgie Miller Longwell.
Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Kaiser Aluminum with 29 1/2 years of service. He enjoyed yard work and his tractor, vacationing and spending time with his family.
He was survived by his wife of 50 years, Virginia Anne Blackwell Longwell; three children, Kim Hamilton (Terry) of Parkersburg, Debra Daugherty (Bob) of Rockport, W.Va. and Lori McIntyre (John) of Parkersburg; one sister, Maxine Custer of Parkersburg; two sister-in-laws, Josephine Longwell and Dottie Longwell; five grandchildren, Amber Watkins, Beth Watkins, Ashley Hill (Cam) and their children, Brayden, Ethan, Coleton & Weston; Brittany Terrell (Joe) and their children, Ellie and Kaden; Mercedes Fullerton (Seth) and their daughter, Emmy; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Imogene Joy, Betty Bacorn and infant sister, Terri Longwell; two brothers, James Longwell and John Longwell; and one great-granddaughter, Zoey.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 25, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., South Parkersburg with longtime friend Rev. David Spence officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery.
