A. Eugene Adams, 79, of 412 N. Washington St., died Saturday night in the Rome Hospital following an operation performed in the afternoon.

He had been injured in a fall at his home on December 1, and had been in ill health since that time. Mr. Adams was born in Rome October 6, 1858, son of the late Adam K. and Desire Larkin Adams. He was educated in Rome schools.

Mr. Adams was employed by Arthur Wylie, clothier, and John Edwards, who operated a department store. Up to his retirement five years ago, he had been employed for 39 years as cashier by the Rome Brass & Copper Company, now Revere Copper & Brass Inc.

Some years ago he served as a member of the City Board of Charities. He was a former member of the Rome Club and Modern Woodmen of America. He attended the First Presbyterian Church.

On February 13, 1889 Mr. Adams married Miss Katherine Jones of this city, who survives with two daughters, Miss Ruth Elizabeth Adams, at home, and Mrs. James H. Doak, Meriden, Conn., a step-sister, Mrs. Samuel H. Beach Sr. Rome, and four grandchildren.
