This area was at one time part of Russia. Her father's name is listed as Yan (John) and mother is Yozhi (Sophie), last name Mudlo. Both of these names are Jewish and in the 1930 census of Scranton, PA, Anastasia indicates that the language spoken in her home as a child was Jewish. I cannot determine a reason behind this information.
