John E. Thill, 79, a retired Ozaukee County farmer, died of an apparent heart attack at his Holy Cross home in the Town of Belgium shortly before noon Sunday. A native of the Holy Cross area, he was born Feb. 3, 1886, a son of the late John Sr. and Mary Thill. He married Elizabeth Jentges, Nov. 25, 1919, in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Following their marriage the couple operated the Thill homestead farm until retiring in 1951 Surviving are his wife; two sons, Robert, Port Washington, and Harvey, on the home farm; a daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Dolores) Prom, Port Washington, and 22 grandchildren. A daughter preceded him in death. The requiem Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Cross Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jerome Schultheis, pastor, celebrant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Jungers Funeral Home in Dacada this evening, where the rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock by men of the Holy Name Society, of which Mr. Thill was a member, and other parishioners.
