Jessie E. McDermed, a resident of Novato for 38 years, died yesterday in a Santa Rosa hospital at 92 from complications resulting from a fall 2 months ago.
A native of Kansas, Mrs. McDermed came to Novato in 1922 with her first husband, Charles Thompson. After his death she married Joseph E. McDermed, an architect, and moved with him to Monterey in 1946. In 1958 the family returned to Novato where she lived the rest of her life. McDermed died 9 years ago.
Mrs. McDermed was a member of the Novato Open Door Club and the city's senior citizens club.
She is survived by a daughter, Edna Robello of San Rafael; 3 sons, Glen Thompson of Sebastopol; Marion Thompson of Petaluma; and Leon Thompson of Sparks, NV; 18 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren.
Funeral will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Keaton's Mortuary in San Rafael. Interment will be at Mt. Tamalpais Cemetery.
