In retirement he and Dottie moved to Flat Rock, North Carolina and built a lovely home. One of his projects was to make markers for the Slave & Freeman section of the cemetery which is to the right facing the church. This section is on the same pathway where he and Dorothy were laid to rest. Their plot is on the left going down the terraced stairway the carriage step entrance to the cemetery.
